Chota Pandit Ji, a small priest figurine in a namaste pose, by Velixo

A familiar face

Every pooja corner has its regulars.

The diya. The bell. The little steel plate that has been there for as long as anyone remembers. Chota Pandit Ji joins them as one more — small, upright, hands folded, moustache immaculate.

He is a character rather than a deity: a tiny priest with an outsized sense of occasion, caught mid-namaste. Put him where you light your agarbatti and an everyday gesture suddenly has an audience.

Look a little closer

Details worth pausing for.

Close view of the sculpted brows, eyes and handlebar moustache
01

Sculpted, not printed.

The brows, moustache, hair and ornaments are formed in the sculpt itself, then picked out in colour by hand.

The sculpted hair and topknot seen from behind
02

Finished front and back.

Hair, topknot and dhoti folds are detailed all the way round, not only where you look first.

The round display base of the figurine
03

Solid on its base.

A weighted round display disc keeps him upright on a shelf, a desk or a dashboard — no wobble, no tipping.

Using him

Three steps, then let it burn.

The opening sits beside his head, at the hairline. Sticks go in unlit and hold at an angle, clear of the sculpt.

1

Stand him steady

Place him on a flat, heat-resistant surface with a tray or plate underneath to catch ash. His base is a display disc, not an ash catcher.

2

Slide the stick in

Insert an unlit incense stick into the opening beside his head. It should sit firmly without being forced.

3

Light it, then let it settle

Light the tip, blow the flame out and let it glow. Burn one stick at a time and never leave it unattended.

Use and care

Let the stick and the holder cool completely before handling. Dust with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth — do not wash him, soak him or use abrasive cleaners. Keep burning incense away from children, pets, curtains and anything else that catches.

This is an incense stick holder only. Do not use it as a diya: no oil, no ghee, no wick and no open flame, and never place him directly over a flame or in excessive heat.

Incense sticks are shown to demonstrate use and are not included.

Chota Pandit Ji placed at home with incense burning beside him

At home, at work, on the road

Good company, lit or unlit.

Most of the day he is simply a small sculpture — on a desk, a bookshelf, a car dashboard, the corner of a mandir. He earns his keep when the agarbatti goes in.

01

As a display piece

Compact enough for a crowded shelf, and distinct enough to be noticed on an empty one.

02

On the dashboard

A steady base suits a car dashboard. Place him where he cannot block your view or reach the controls, and keep incense for when the car is parked.

03

As a gift

Diwali, a housewarming, a new desk, or the friend whose pooja shelf could use a personality.

Styling props in the photographs — the tray, the diya and the incense — are not included.

Before you bring him home

Good questions, answered.

Anything else on your mind? We are happy to help.

What exactly is Chota Pandit Ji?

A character figurine that doubles as an incense stick holder. He is an original Velixo character — a small priest figure in a namaste pose — and is sold as a decorative collectible, not as a religious idol or a licensed character from any film or show.

How big is he?

Roughly 4.5 inches tall, about 11.5 cm. The scale photograph further up the page shows him at true size.

What is he made from?

Marble dust with resin, hand-finished with gold detailing. It is a solid, weighty material rather than a hollow plastic.

How many incense sticks does he hold?

There is one opening, set beside his head at the hairline. Use a standard agarbatti that fits without being forced, and burn one stick at a time.

Are incense sticks or a tray included?

No. You receive the holder only. Incense sticks, and the tray or plate you will want underneath him, are not included.

How is falling ash handled?

Stand him on a tray, plate or other heat-resistant surface that can catch ash. The round base is a display base — it is not designed to collect ash, and because sticks sit at an angle, ash falls beyond it.

Can I keep him on my car dashboard?

Yes. His compact size and stable base suit a dashboard. Position him so he does not obstruct your view or interfere with the controls, and keep incense for when the car is parked, never while driving.

How should I clean him?

Let the incense and the holder cool completely first. Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not soak him or use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals or prolonged water and heat.

When will my order dispatch and arrive?

Orders are dispatched within 1–2 working days of confirmation, and usually delivered 2–7 working days after that, depending on your location and the courier. Tracking is shared once your order ships, and timelines can stretch during festive peaks.

Which payment options are available?

Checkout is secured by Cashfree. Every payment method we currently support — UPI, cards and EMI among them — is shown at checkout before you pay.

What if it arrives damaged, or I want to return it?

Inspect your order on delivery and write to velixo.co.in@gmail.com with your order number and photographs as soon as possible if anything is damaged, defective or incorrect.

We also have a 30-day return policy: you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return, and it must come back unused, in its original packaging, with proof of purchase. Read the refund policy.
